Bunny, Bunny on the Wall

I have been saving up/putting together pictures & frames for a long time now and always planned on doing a wall collage. Well I finally did it!

I've got some french girls in fancy frames, some ceramic bows, a plastic typewriter, a framed "The Shy Little Kitten" children's book, a framed "I love Paris" record, this mixed-media girl you might remember, a vintage bunny head I backed with fabric and attached to the frame, a lovely print I got off Etsy (I need to find the artist's name!) and this ribbon hanger that you also might remember.

I feel like there's a little too much space between these and the bookshelf below them, but that just leaves me some room to add stuff.
So happy to see these all on my wall instead of stuffed in my closet! Click to enlarge, if you please. Since I decided to add the ribbon hanger, I think I need to add something on the right to balance it out.

Here's what I did, in case you feel like doing something similar:
I measured the space on my wall, then measured it out and taped it off on my floor.
I then arranged them, then took a picture from above, rearranged and took another picture, and so on. Looking at them on a camera screen helps to give you a better idea of what it looks like as a whole, from far away.
I went with a somewhat symmetrical arrangement.

Transferring the arrangement to the wall is the tough part. You don't want to start hanging them then realize they're not quite where you want them.
So...I traced each shape in newspaper, cut them out and taped them to the wall.
Once I had this right, it was easy to know exactly where to hang each piece (especially if you're on a ladder and don't have someone to guide you).

I had to move my "love all you can" ribbon sculpture to another wall to make room for the collage..
..but I think it fits much better here and goes nicely with the picture below it.
I noticed that hanging all these things high up, leads the eye upward and emphasizes my high ceiling, making my room seem taller and a bit more spacious.

Here's another project I recently completed:

..A picture hanger mobile. For some reason I've been attracted to these really girly puffy hangers for a year or so and started collecting them. I wasn't sure what to do with them, but I knew I wanted to make something. The idea came to me fairly recently.

I have some fun pins that I used to attach some ribbon to the hangers
I tied the other end of the ribbon to these little clothespins. You can find them at a party supply store in the baby shower section.
I also added my pink donut Justine made me and some other fun things like felt creatures or unused phone charms I had laying around.
Poloroids are nice to hang because you can hang two of them back-to-back on one clothespin and even put little scraps of fabric in between as a sort of little frame. I plan on making some picture ornaments to hang on here soon..
Since I'm free from school this summer, I actually have some time to do all this stuff and I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying it. More projects coming soon!
